![]() The other can be destroyed and even a few interceptors will whittle down the half health one fairly quickly. What's happening? IIRC you only have to save one of the cryo trays and capture one of the frigates in order to succeed in the mission. Well that can happen but it usually is because you ran out of resources late in the game and got too much of your fleet destroyed to succeed. Am I terrible at the game, or is this how the game goes? All I can think is to go back and complete mission 2 differently. However, I can't complete the 3rd mission, it seems the choices I made on mission 2 have screwed me. I've played first 2 missions and I am enjoying it so far. I never played the originals so picked this up after reading many positive reviews. Then its trying to manage your frigates and ships from running into asteroids. Repair corvette and Support Frigate repairing is needed. Yah, that took a few tries, since its been so long. Unless you want the visuals or the challenge, anything smaller than a frigate just isn't useful enough in combat. Later in the game when drone and missile frigates become available, you can dispense with fighter craft altogether. Remaining resources are harvested when you exit a mission.Īlso, on the asteroid mission, you need ion frigates and repair frigates to succeed. Certainly not if it was going to take more than a few minutes to collect. Maybe there is more on the map and I'm only getting a part of it, but I've been breezing through most missions and not felt I needed more. ![]() The mission I just beat, think it was 'Sea of Lost Souls' I quick docked and had 16000 RU for the start of the next mission. I'm not sure how it works, but pressing 'Quick Dock' definitely gets you resources. Besides, they still have a ship they haven't made a plastic model of to create for additional sales. It's also possible that the cutout near the top of the Mothership would have made the model too difficult to produce.Ī little disappointed they went that route myself, but I wouldn't have wanted to continue waiting for the game and it's not like they didn't say that it would be Pride from the beginning. Whereas if they'd used the Mothership from HW1 they would have either had to start from scratch or wait until they had the artwork upgrade done during dev. The best guess that people have been able to make as to why they went with Pride over Mother is that they had a high quality version of the 3D artwork to start with for it in order to start getting prototypes made. It's the Pride of Hiigara from Homeworld 2 not the Mothership from Homeworld 1. Regarding the "special edition" - anyone notice the plastic mothership model doesn't actually look the same as the in-game model ? There should be a cut-out section where I've always imagined the bridge to be in the game, but it's a solid bow shape. So all in all, this is basically Homeworld that's easier to get running on modern systems. The formation can wait up until you're underway. This is hugely compounded by any kind of formation order, since they want to get into formation first, then move, whereas.I wouldn't be telling you to move unless I wanted you to move *right now*. On the last Kadesh mission, I had to issue multiple move orders/tactical stance changes over the whole mission simply to get ships to actually fucking move anywhere. They also don't seem to have done anything to fix ships generally "fucking around" and basically not obeying your orders. The fifth wouldn't actually "lock on" despite trying all permutations of the commands, so I just destroyedit to proceed. I tried capturing the Taiidan carrier myself, but 4 salvage corvettes didn't move it, so I built a fifth. I use 2 support frigates to keep a fleet of frigates topped up. You should be able to group special, which is probably the biggest problem everyone's experiencing with salvage/repair corvettes and support frigates. I'm thinking that's a bug or UI oversight and not a feature. Yeah, the "special ability" is limited to one target.
